| Hello, My name is Jennifer McCormack. I operate Lavendilly Fibre Arts from my home in Nerang on the Gold Coast. I began Lavendilly Fibre Arts initially to help fund my own feltmaking - and of course this then led on to supplying my local community. It is my goal to make fibre crafts accessible to everyone by keeping my prices as low as I possibly can.

| I first learned how to make felt when I began teaching kindergarten at Silkwood Steiner School at Mt Nathan. Making simple felt toys with the children was pure joy, and it naturally led me on to exploring other modes of expression using wool fibres. Now that I am no longer teaching, but enjoying time at home with my two young children, I have time to play with my felting, and to teach others.

| It gives me immense pleasure to teach feltmaking to people in my community, and it never ceases to amaze me how, given the same basic materials, I have never seen two of the same felts created. Everything that is made is purely individual.

| I believe that feltmaking is a very healing art form. It is a wonderful experience to create something beautiful and useful 'out of nothing'. I stare at my storeroom full of fibres and I often wonder what potential projects lay dormant amongst those colourful rolls of fleece!

| Feltmaking is not my only interest. I still work with children and families in my home (Lavendilly House) and I also work as a Civil Marriage Celebrant on the Gold Coast.
